Dragon Con Recap. The Irishman has returned.
Hey all. Just returned from an awesome weekend at Dragon Con! Here is a brief rundown of cool things that I saw and did while in Atlanta:
Sat in with Alan Tudyk and Summer Glau for questions and such (Adam Baldwin could not make it :P). No spoilers unless you email me for them ;)

Sat in on Trek Trak with Denise Crosby (for 20 minutes, she is very easy to talk to) and George Takei (that was a great time, he talked about upcoming projects and the future of Trek... for those interested, email me.)

Sat in on Babylon 5 panel for 30 minutes or so (Cosplay kids made too much noise, but they couldn't shut the doors because of fire code :P). Still, was good to sit in and hear the stars talk about their experiences. Stephen Furst's favorite moments were of course telling Morden that he wanted his head on a pike so he could smile and do the little wave... and Peter Jurasik doing Londo, calling him "a moon faced assasin of joy". Got a laugh out of that :D

Sat in on David Prowse... The slide show was interesting, if a bit dull, about his work outside of Star Wars. He did answer questions afterwards, so it was still good.

Attended part of Godhead concert (they needed to turn down the feedback, we could hardly hear the singing) before waiting on Rocky Horror to bomb for about an hour while they were having technical difficulties (no sound). After an hour or so (around 2:30am), gave up and left.

Took plenty of pictures (I have only one on Myspace so far, will come up with an album or somewhere they can be viewed once I can find the ones that turned out good).

Had numerous pics taken of me as the Dread Pirate Roberts (note that I think I was the ONLY one this year. Score! :D)

Anything that you can think to buy, it is here... saw several things that looked interesting... nothing that I could not live without... anyone, however, who ever played Magic The Gathering before would weep if they played in the old days... Mox Sapphire, Ruby, Emerald, etc are up to $600-650... and my stuff is worth squat ;)

Masquerade was fun... people are incredibly imaginative when it comes to costumes :)

Ran into some friends from GA Ren Faire, as well as friends from around town. Celebrity sightings outside of panels that I witnessed:
Peter Mayhew (I was right next to him, he looked tired and folks kept bothering him, it was simply cool to see him)
Erick Avari (Monday he was heading out up the escalator)
Mickey Rooney (downstairs of Hilton, he was heading up with his wife. Man is he tiny).

And... I got sick on the last day of Con... still fighting off a nasty sinus bug :P

All in all a killer time. I will have pics posted soon, when I can sort through them. Will be going back next year, already pre-registered (since it was $40 for the entire con next year, as opposed to $85 if I wait). So, who wants to go with me next year? ;)

    Current Mood: energetic
